The Problem to Solve

Borders & Gates serves several audiences across four broad capability groups. The website needed to make that breadth feel focused, give every offer a clear route, and retain a distinctive executive identity across a large, content-rich information architecture.

Borders & Gates is a corporate platform for a strategy firm that works across consulting, technology, outsourcing, and professional training. The experience combines a high-impact company website with service discovery, editorial content, events, case studies, and a Digital Hub for proprietary tools and frameworks, while keeping one consistent black, white, and gold visual system.

02 / From Scope to Launch

How the Work Moved

The work became clearer through decisions, working increments, and feedback—not a long wait for a final reveal.

04 Steps

  1. Step 01

We organized a wide service catalogue into four clear capability families, then gave each specialist offer a direct path from the global navigation.

  2. Step 02

We translated the premium black-and-gold identity into a responsive interface built around strong editorial typography, cinematic media, and deliberate motion.

  3. Step 03

We treated insights, events, and case studies as part of the business journey rather than detached content, helping visitors move from expertise to evidence and contact.

  4. Step 04

We extended the same system into the Digital Hub so tools, frameworks, and purchasable digital products feel like part of the core brand.

03 / Decisions that shaped the product

Key Product Decisions

Decision 01

Four capability families instead of one long service list

Business context
The firm offers strategy, technology, operational support, and learning services, each with several specialist offers.
Decision
We grouped the catalogue under Consulting, Technology, Outsourcing, and Institute, with direct access to the underlying services.
Why
The grouping makes a broad offer scannable while preserving a short route for visitors who already know what they need.
Decision 02

An editorial system for proof and thought leadership

Business context
A consultancy must demonstrate how it thinks as well as describe what it sells.
Decision
We integrated Business Talk, events, and case studies into the main information architecture and homepage narrative.
Why
Visitors can move naturally from the firm's point of view to real delivery evidence before starting a conversation.
Decision 03

One visual language across the corporate site and Digital Hub

Business context
The Digital Hub adds product and commerce behaviour to an otherwise service-led corporate experience.
Decision
We kept the hub inside the same navigation, visual language, and content hierarchy as the main site.
Why
The product catalogue reads as an extension of the firm's expertise instead of a separate storefront.

05 / How it was built

Engineering Decisions

  • Responsive layouts cover the corporate homepage, company story, capability catalogue, specialist service pages, editorial content, events, and case studies.

  • CMS-driven content supports a large service hierarchy and repeatable insight, event, and case-study publishing.

  • The Digital Hub introduces catalogue, cart, and digital-product flows within the same branded experience.

  • Motion, video, marquees, and layered navigation reinforce the premium identity while clear calls to action keep contact and hub access visible.

06 / What changed

Delivered Outcome

  • The firm now presents its full consulting, technology, outsourcing, and training offer through one coherent digital destination.

  • Capability pages, insights, events, and case studies share a consistent structure that supports both discovery and credibility.

  • The Digital Hub gives the platform room to grow from a corporate website into a productized ecosystem of tools and frameworks.
